Birkie trail closure
Due to the warm weather in the later portion of the week, the Birkie trail will be closed to practice skiing.
The Birkie sent out this notice:
BIRKIE WEEK COURSE UPDATE: The course is in great condition right now. The weather forecast is on our side for the early part of the week, however, then gets a little less favorable. Given that, the BIRKIE SKATE AND CLASSIC TRAILS WILL CLOSE starting at 11:59PM Wednesday night! The trail will be closed on THURSDAY & FRIDAY! Please be respective of your fellow skiers – this precaution is being taken to be certain that the Birkie Trail race course is in the best possible condition for all participants. Thanks for your cooperation. Anyone wanting to ski after the course closes can ski on the Birkie Ridge Trail from the trailhead up to the Birkie Trail intersection and back.
