Paddling film festival
Milwaukee – Clear Water Outdoor presents the 11th Annual Reel Paddling Film Festival at Clear Water Outdoor, 250 N. Water Street, on May 21, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
The 11th Annual Reel Paddling Film Festival is an international film tour presenting the world’s best whitewater, sea kayaking, canoeing, SUP and kayak fishing action and paddling lifestyle films of the year.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. A portion of the proceeds go toward the Milwaukee Riverkeeper. Food and beverages will be provided by Urban Caveman and Brenner Brewing. Meet the crew from Surfrider Foundation, Milwaukee Chapter and the Milwaukee Riverkeepers while they teach ways to support and advocate for our local waters. Raffle Prizes donated by Bending Branches Paddles (a Wis. company), Hippy Tree, and Patagonia.
Ten inspiring paddling films short-listed for the World Tour, including the festival category winners, will be shown. Audiences can expect to see stand-up paddle surfing, sea kayakers exploring remote coastlines, headwaters canoe expeditions, international river travel films, motivating environmental documentaries, and hilarious short films capturing the lighter side of paddling life.
This event will take place after the 2nd annual Place of Gathering Paddlers Stand UP Paddleboard Race – which takes place May 21, at Lake Shore State Park. Enjoy board demos, instruction, and the race! Event is 10:00-3:00 (race from 12-1). MILWAUKEE’s ONLY SUP race!!
The Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour is produced by Rapid Media and presented by Clear Water Outdoor in the Historic Third Ward, Milwaukee location. On the corner of Water & Buffalo in the Marshall Building.
