TiddTech, manufacturer of snow grooming equipment, has improved the performance of its G2
groomer by adding Depth Control System (DCS) technology.
DCS allows for easier grooming, more economical groomer performance and an improved skiing surfaces. DCS is a height adjustable component which attaches to the G2 tooth bar that allows G2 operators to set a fixed cutting depth.
Consistency of cut provides a big advantage for novice groomers and is greatly valued by seasoned groomers. The ability to renovate at a fixed depth without tooth diving due to changes in terrain creates greater efficiency as you are putting less load on the snowmobile. Less drag on your sled means lower fuel costs, less wear and tear and better product output at higher grooming speeds.
DCS allows for the rolling mound of snow ahead of the teeth to move more easily from side to side creating a better width leveling effect. This creates a flatter surface across the trail. Additionally, the toothbar is less likely to plug up with sticky high-moisture snow. You can now roll a consistent 4- to 10-inch snow pile with much less risk of a sudden snow build-up which causes more drag and potential tooth bar tripping. More free flowing snow means fewer holes, a smoother skiing surface and a better skiing experience.
This past spring, TiddTech released its first production run of the DCS. Initial units were distributed to some of the company's "most knowledgeable and finickiest grooming customers." Company officials said the majority of these users reported that they are now rarely likely to be found grooming without the Depth Control System.
As a result, TiddTech decided to make the DCS a standard component on the G2 for the 2011-2012 season. For those with older G2s, the DCS is also available as a retrofit add on.
Another G2 accessory released by TiddTech last season was the Track Renovator. The Track
Renovator simplifies resetting classic track in any snow conditions. The unit attaches to the G2
toothbar in front of the Track Setter and has teeth which extend 1.5 inches below the teeth on the G2. This
allows operators to rip deeper only where they wish to set classic track which greatly reduces the drag exerted on sleds sled. Where track resetting used to take up to four passes, the Track Renovator can do it in one or two passes in most conditions.
TiddTech has also announce that its products are now manufactured by Spooner Machine in Spooner, Wisconsin. This pairing now provides TiddTech with two facilities strategically located to provide customers with
lower shipping costs and consistent manufacturing quality.
