Take a ground beef patty, cook it with bacon and an egg on top and then serve it up with a Krispy Kreme doughnut "bun." Take macaroni and cheese, wrap it up in bacon and deep fry it.
Those dishes epitomize the sickening cuisine of Paula Deen, the Food Network personality who gained notoriety cooking according to the old southern proverb, "If it can't be friend in bacon grease, it ain't worth cooking, let alone eating." Who would have thought she'd end up afflicted with type 2 diabetes?
The answer to that question is anyone with an ounce of intelligence and common sense who knows, or should know, the relationship between her type of diet, obesity, late onset diabetes and cardiovascular problems. It's not like it is a well-kept secret, as was the disease Deen suffered from but hid while she continued to encourage others to partake of high-fat and sugar-loaded menus. Deep-fried (probably bacon grease) cheesecake and deep-fried butter balls are a couple more of her famous creations.
