Wis. runner featured on sports nutrition bar

Posted

Wisconsin native and MS Run the US, Inc. founder Ashley Kumlien has run herself right onto the packaging of No Opportunity Wasted (NOW) Energy Bars, a product of Phil Keoghan, host of the Emmy Award-winning series "The Amazing Race." Kumlien is also a featured runner and blogger for Keoghan's NOW Nation initiative

Kumlien is best known for her 2010 3,200-mile journey across America on foot to raise awareness and funds for Multiple Sclerosis research. Her journey brought her into contact with hundreds of individuals affected by MS, including Keoghan. A fellow MS activist and athlete, Keoghan created NOW, a brand and philosophy of living life to the fullest, in addition to his line of NOW Energy Bars.

Keoghan chose Kumlien to grace the packaging of his Honeycomb with chai and raisins NOW Energy Bar because he said she embodies the NOW lifestyle. "Ashley optimizes the meaning of 'no opportunity wasted,' making the most of NOW and taking on the biggest physical and mental challenges of her life," Keoghan said.

Keoghan's 2009, 3,500-mile bike ride across America raised over $500,000 for the National MS Society, and inspired individuals across the country to take action and join in the fight against MS.
