The mountain bikers in the WORS Women contingent will host a Spring Fling at Lapham Peak on Saturday, including clinics, gear demonstrations and a duathlon for ladies only.
Think of it as a pot-luck with the potential to get dirty. And it's free.
The registration opens at 9 a.m. in the Evergreen Shelter - the first right turn inside the park entrance off Highway C in the Town of Delafield.
Check out this site for the full description of the events.
The informational session, focused on racing in the Wisconsin Off-Road Series, should be excellent.
"We'll talk about bike setup for mountain biking, and bike fit for control and comfort, including common issues for women like bar width, tire pressure, grips, fit, saddles. We'll also talk about common gear questions: 29er vs. 26-inch bikes, full suspension, singlespeed, road riding, etc."
The duathlon starts at 11:20 a.m. and features a 1.5-mile run and an 8-mile mountain bike loop on the trails.
