2025 Top 100 Largest Races List Released

RunSignUp, the leading registration platform, released a list of the 100 largest races in the United States in 2025.

The total number of participants represented in the 2025 Top 100 Largest Races increased compared to 2019; however, that increase is not evenly distributed, with much of that growth coming from the very largest races.

Seventy-five races on the 2025 Top 100 Largest Races list had more participants in 2025 than in 2024. On average races grew 6.5 percent compared to last year. More than half (52) of the 2025 Top 100 Largest Races exceeded their 2019 participation. On average, races were 5.2 percent larger in 2025 than 2019.

The 2025 Top 100 Largest Races list had 1,921,611 finishers, just slightly ahead of the 1,874,586 from the 2019 list.

 In 2019, the 100th largest race had 9,456 finishers. In 2022 it was just 6,115. In 2025, the 100th largest race was back up to 8,948. In 2019, 33 races exceeded 20,000 participants, with just 16 races over 20,000 in 2022. In 2025, 37 races exceeded 20,000 Gnishers. On average, races grew from 2023-2024 and exceeded their 2019 registration levels.

From 2024 to 2025, the races that grew the most were the Marine Corps Marathon (38%), Rocky Run (36%), Rodeo Run (36%), Portland Marathon (33%) and the Manchester Road Race (31%).
