Leave No Trace and Teravail Partner to Invest in Rider Education

Posted

Leave No Trace announced a new partnership with Teravail, a brand dedicated to helping riders explore beyond the pavement. By supporting Leave No Trace in 2026, Teravail is investing in rider education that empowers cyclists to protect the trails, landscapes, and public lands that make adventure possible.

As gravel riding, bikepacking, and adventure cycling continue to connect more people with the outdoors, the partnership recognizes an important opportunity: ensuring riders have the knowledge and skills to recreate responsibly while preserving the places they love to explore.

“Teravail understands that caring for the outdoors is part of every adventure,” said Dana Watts, Executive Director of Leave No Trace. “As more people discover the freedom of exploring by bike, this partnership helps ensure they also gain the knowledge to protect the places that make those experiences possible. We’re excited to work together to inspire stewardship across the cycling community.”

“The best rides connect us to something bigger than ourselves,” says Erika Kooda, Brand Marketing Manager with Teravail, “By partnering with Leave No Trace, we’re empowering and equipping riders with practical, science-based principles that help preserve the landscapes, trails, and communities that make every adventure possible.”

For more than 30 years, Leave No Trace has translated science into practical actions that help people minimize their impact outdoors. Through research, education, and partnerships with leading outdoor organizations and brands, Leave No Trace empowers millions of people each year to enjoy nature responsibly while helping ensure healthy trails, thriving ecosystems, and memorable outdoor experiences for future generations.

As part of the collaboration, Teravail is sharing the Leave No Trace Principles for mountain biking and gravel riding through educational content that provides cyclists with practical guidance on planning ahead, riding on durable surfaces, respecting wildlife, properly disposing of waste, and being considerate of other trail users.

Together, Leave No Trace and Teravail are helping riders recognize that stewardship is part of every ride, because protecting the places we pedal today helps ensure they remain open, healthy, and inspiring for tomorrow’s adventures.
