The Minnesota Canoe Association (MCA), founded in 1966, is a community of paddlers dedicated to promoting the joy, fitness, and adventure of canoeing across Minnesota and beyond. Founded in 1966 and incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the State of Minnesota, the Minnesota Canoe Association has grown from a small group of passionate paddlers into a vibrant statewide community.

The MCA welcomes paddlers of all ages and skill levels—from beginners learning their first strokes to seasoned racers competing at the highest levels.

We believe that canoeing is more than a sport—it’s a way to connect with nature, build lifelong friendships, and strengthen our communities.
