Strava Adds Strength Training in Major Update

Posted
The recent update brings muscle maps, workout logs and more than a dozen partner integrations to the social fitness app. Strength training is becoming a more important part of the Strava platform with the addition of tools such as workout logging, muscle maps and integration with workout related partners.

The update features 14 integrations across the strength, fitness and wearable ecosystem, a workout log, auto-populated muscle maps and five strength-specific shareable formats. The update will make logging lifting workouts easier to track and share.

Strava reported strength is one of its fastest-growing sport types, with more than 500 million strength uploads in 2025 alone.

The update includes integrations with popular wearables including Amazfit, Garmin, Whoop, and 24 Hour Fitness later this summer. The integrations reduce the need for users to manually recreate workouts inside the platform.

The new workout log lets platform users track sets, reps and weight in a dedicated strength format, making it easier to review and repeat workouts over time. The new application features auto-populated muscle maps, which identify the muscle groups trained based on the exercises performed.
