BOULDER JUNCTION – The Boulder Junction Community Foundation has celebrated a major milestone for the local community this season.
Thanks to the remarkable generosity of its supporters, this spring marks the largest total request the foundation has ever received and successfully awarded in a single grant cycle, with an unprecedented $33,589 going directly to vital local projects.
“We are deeply moved by the growth of this grant cycle and the incredible breadth of projects we are able to support this spring,” said Mary Van Grinsven, Boulder Junction Community Foundation Advisory Board president. “This milestone is a direct reflection of our community’s vibrant spirit and the profound dedication of our donors. Their continued support and passion are what allow us to meet these expanding needs year after year, ensuring we can make a tangible, lasting difference right here in Boulder Junction.”
The foundation announced a total of eight community enhancement awards for the spring cycle.
Among the recipients, the Boulder Junction Volunteer Fire Department was awarded $11,199 for two sets of radio headsets to enhance critical emergency communications.
In support of local history and commerce, the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce was granted $3,250 to fund the much-anticipated Marty the Muskie restoration project. Area youth and environmental education also received significant boosts, with Little Forest School granted $2,450 for the creation of its Wild Roots Garden Classroom, and the North Lakeland Discovery Center awarded $1,440 to fund three upcoming community programs.
Rounding out the historic cycle, WinMan Trails, Inc. was awarded $2,000 to support its Trailhead Kiosk Project, further enhancing regional outdoor recreation, while the Boulder Junction Public Library received $1,169 to acquire new recording and camera equipment.
“None of these impactful investments would be possible without the foundational support of incredible local donors,” Van Grinsven added. “Together, the foundation, its partners, and its contributors continue to strengthen the fabric of Boulder Junction for generations to come.”
