Lottery for entry now open for Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival
Applications for the 33rd Annual Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival registration lottery are now being accepted at www.cheqfattire.com. The event, which takes place in Cable, Wisconsin, and was recently noted by USA Today as one of the 10 best bike-friendly cities in the United States, is presented by Trek and produced by Life Time Fitness and will be held over the September 19, 2015, weekend.
Registration for the weekend’s main cross country event, which sells out each year, is limited to a total of 3,100 riders – split between 2,100 participants in the Chequamegon 40 and 1,000 in the 16-mile Short & Fat. Online applications will be accepted until registration close at midnight on March 15, 2015. Shortly after registration close, an electronic lottery drawing will take place to select event participants who will then be notified of their selection via email no later than April 1, 2015.
Only those selected in the lottery will be billed for the event’s entry fee. A $5 application fee, donated to the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association, the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation and the International Mountain Bike Association to support their local trail advocacy, will be collected from all who apply for the registration lottery.
