How COVID-19 impacts the MoraTour

To help protect your safety as well as the safety of volunteers, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced a number of changes for this years’ tour on Sept. 19.

Online registration open now to Sept. 19. Race day registration is available Online only until 7am–simply use your smart phone to register before you arrive. There will be no in-person registration inside the Nordic Center as in past years. NOTE: If the Tour cannot be held due to COVID-19 restrictions by the State of Minnesota your registration will be held over and be good for the 2021 Tour. For any other reason, there are no refunds.

Check In
Before you park your car a volunteer will greet you, ask your name and check you in. Once you’ve parked your car, unload your bike and begin the Tour.

The Start                                                         
To help protect riders we will have a rolling start from 8­—8:30am. Once you have checked in and parked your car, unload your bike and begin the tour. The Tour start/finish is at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center, 400 N 9th St, Mora, 55051.

Your Safety & Ours 
Please wear a mask and practice social distancing when not biking and near other bikers and volunteers at the start/finish, at water stops and when using portable toilet facilities. When biking, stay 60 feet from other bikers that are not part of your family or your biking companion.

As in past years, helmets are, of course required and please note this is a Tour so intersections are not controlled.

Services
Self-service water stops will have bottled water and energy bars. Toilet facilities are available. The first water stop closes at 10am; the second at 11am and the last stop closes at 1pm. Race services and route signs may not be available if you choose to start earlier or later than the 8-8:30 am rolling start time.

Sag Wagon & Repairs
If you break down and need a ride back to the Nordic Center, please call the number listed on the course map, which can be picked-up at the start area. You will need to wear a mask for the trip. If you do not have one the driver will provide one to you.

After you finish
Because of COVID-19, we are sorry we will not be able to serve the traditional Bikers Lunch. When you finish the Tour, please check in at one of the kiosk tents where you can pick-up your complimentary long sleeve t-shirt as well as an ice cream treat for your trip home.

Commemorative 40th Anniversary Bikers Jersey
If you wish to upgrade to a special 40th anniversary bike jersey rather than the Long sleeve T-shirt, simply choose that option when you register. The cost is only $25 for this $75 Jersey! 
We must have your Jersey order in-hand on August 20 so we encourage you to register online to avoid any mail delays. 

Vasaloppet Nordic Center Facilities–Closed
Because of COVID-19, the Nordic Center facilities will be closed for the Tour. Portable toilets will be available outside the Nordic Center. Since droplets containing Coronavirus can remain suspended in the air we urge you to wear a mask inside portable toilets.

$35 per person postmarked on or before September 1, 2020
$45 per person postmarked after September 1, 2020
$50 per person the day of the tour.

Special Family Rate:

$80 per family of 3 or 4 members, plus $15 per extra member after 4, with same address, on or before September 1, 2020. and mailed together.
$90 per family of 3 or 4 members, plus $15 per extra member after 4, with same address, postmarked after September 1, 2020 and mailed together.
$100 per family of 3 or 4 members, plus $15 per extra member after 4, with same address, the day of the tour.
